How Can I Help?

There are lots of ways you can support the KidTalk project!

If you are a parent or live in a household with kids…

The best way to support us is by using the app! Click “My Scrapbook” to open the app in a new tab and make your account. You can record every single day, or only once and then never again -  whatever fits your schedule. You can also:

  • Share the app with other parents and families. You can post our links in your local parenting groups and listservs, promote them to other families from your child’s school, or just tell your friends about us - it all helps!

  • Post pictures and videos of your family using the KidTalk app on social media with the hashtag #KidTalk. We would love to see all the ways different people use the app!

  • Send us your feedback about the app. We will continue to update the app based on user feedback, so if there are things you particularly like or dislike about it, you can let us know by clicking "Send us your feedback" at the bottom of this page.

If you aren’t a parent and/or don’t live with kids…

You can still help! We welcome your feedback about the app, and we encourage you to help us spread the word to families who might use it. You can:

  • Play around with the app and send us your feedback about bugs or potential improvements by clicking "Send us your feedback" at the bottom of this page.

  • Share our links with friends and family members who have children and might be interested in using the app.

  • Follow our social media accounts, and share this flier:

If you have ideas you want to contribute to the project...

We would love to hear them! Maybe you have thoughts about how we can broaden distribution, or maybe you have experience with Natural Language Processing and want to help us transcribe recordings. Whatever the case, we welcome your ideas about this research and how it can be improved. If you're interested in this project and want to get more involved, please fill out the Contact Us form.

Citizen Science is done in collaboration with the public. We need your help to recruit participants and collect data, and we also welcome your ideas about the research itself and how we can make it better. Whether you're using the app and giving us your feedback, sharing our information with friends, or getting more directly involved with the project, we really appreciate your time and interest - we couldn't do this without you!
